TITLE:                     Building Access Attendant (Security)

 

REPORTS TO:          Principal

           

SALARY:                  $20.82 per hour 

 

LOCATION:             High School

                                                                      

HOURS:                   Flexible: Typically 7am – 3pm: 8 hours per day, 182 days per year. Hours may be changed                                        per the discretion of the Principal and after regular school hour meetings. 

 

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitor front desk building access for the security and safety of the school and its occupants.
  2. Greet and “check in” all visitors at main lobby welcome desk.
  3. Become proficient in building’s security and building access technology and procedures to maintain a safe environment.
  4. Communicate to appropriate staff any building access concerns, questions or solutions.
  5. Participate in development/revision of School Emergency Response Plan.
  6. Coordinate teacher and student access to the building.
  7. Create staff and student ID cards (including key cards and POS information).
  8. Any other related responsibilities as assigned by the principal

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must pass Massachusetts Criminal Background Check
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Physically fit
  • Experience in computer technology 
  • Excellent problem solving, time management, and customer service skills 
  • Ability to work either independently or as a team 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 182 days per school year (subject to yearly reappointment)


EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated by the Principal or designee
